World Cup Art

I gave away in my intro post that I was a big fan of the World Cup... I missed my USA vs. England prediction (not by much).

Well, I was searching around a little for Soccer-Related Art, or Artists who had some involvment in recent World Cups and found this link: http://www.worldcupart.com/.

The site features the paintings of Guillermo Conte whose work has been seen at Sotheby's and Christie's.

These are two of my favorites:

USA

Togo

Learning a little about Psychedelic Art

This is a Pic I found while researching The Psychedelic Art Movement. To me, just an incredible image and makes me wonder what the artist, Mati Klarwein must have been thinking about while creating it. In an interview, he says he never painted under the influence of any hallucinogens, which amazes me even further.

This is called Soundscapes.

Scans of my Abstracts

These are the scans from my abstracts we did last week. I am attempting now to figure out how exactly to use Illustrator. I'm not the most computer savvy guy in the world when it comes to teaching myself how to use a program, so I hope it begins to make sense.

It's been a crazy week for me, and trying to learn a new program like Illustrator in a weekend so I can get caught up is stressing me out a little!!

Any ideas for a quick and easy basic tutorial? The links on the content section haven't clicked with me. I'm still tooling around in the program, trying to just get started.

Trying To Get Caught Up

You know when you've missed a few days of work, or had a long weekend, or been out sick from school for a few days... that overwhelming feeling of "how will I ever catch up?"

Well, that's where I am. For the better part of the week, I've been laid up. I've worked a little (gotta make some money), but otherwise, I've been relatively unproductive for about 8 days.

Today, I've started that climb back. I plan to spend the majority of my weekend attacking the pile of work I've allowed to stack up. In between World Cup games, and the demands of a 3.5 year old and a 1.875 year old. (I work in the financial world, so I'm better at decimals)

Last Post About Being Ill (I hope)

I'm hoping to break this pattern here, but I wanted to post an update on my illness (it's the internet, i'm allowed to assume that SOMEONE cares).

3 more days of hacking coughs, violent sneezes, and clogged ears. The positives are the I'm coughing because my congestion is finally clearing, and my ears no longer hurt (although I still can't hear very well). The medication is working, but apparently my Doc wasn't exagerating when he said my left ear was "badly infected."

So... from now on, surgical masks and earplugs when I fly!! Too many germs out there.
So, just figured out how to text message posts to my blog. Now, when I have things to blog about, I can write them immediately. I tend to forget otherwise.

Upping the Meds

Had to go BACK to the doctors today. My actual doctor, not Right Time (formerly Nite Time). My regular doctor gave me some very strong antibiotics for my DOUBLE-ear infections. So strong in fact, he said I could probably stop my pink eye meds... He said the new stuff will in effect, "kill everything bad going on in your body short of cancer."

About an hour ago, my ears FINALLY stopped ringing. It's been 4 days of ringing pain... I am still coughing and sniffling, but MAN... even though I still can't hear well, at least the ringing is gone. The meds are working!
